    2. Planned Puppethood.

After graduate school, I happened upon another puppetry design training opportunity via the newly arisen internet. David Pannabecker, of Armslength Productions, and a former pupil of Kermit Love (The creator of Big Bird) had, on his site a kit that show a person, via videotape instruction, how to build a studio-quality puppet. It was with this new knowledge, plus some design tips from Pannabecker himself, that gave me the confidence to partner with my best friend to do a few independent projects.

The first was a project with the Flint Michigan chapter of planned parenthood, who’s Teen Scenes performance troupe was starting a puppet troupe, and commissioned my best friend and I to build a number of puppets for them.

The following are the puppets I built for the group. Two hand and rod puppets, one ‘live hands’ dog puppet, and one puppet with interchangeable features.
